ADNI is a 5-year study. We hope that our participants will stay involved in ADNI for as long as possible. This will help us have more information about brain health and aging over time. The study has different phases that depend on one’s eligibility and interest:
- The first phase involves registering to be part of the ADNI4 Digital study, signing consent (see Why do I have to agree to a consent form), answering questions about yourself, and taking a memory test. This is all completed online and at no cost to you.
- Some participants may be invited to the next phase of the study, called the ADNI4 Blood Biomarker study. You may be asked to give a blood sample by visiting a local Quest Diagnostics lab. This will be at no cost to you, and you may be paid for your time.
- Some participants may be invited to the final phase of the study, called the ADNI4 In-Clinic study. It involves visiting a local clinical site for in-depth tasks. At the clinic, you may be asked to complete memory and other thinking tests with expert medical staff. You may be asked to provide blood samples for analysis. Lastly, you may be asked to complete brain imaging scans (MRI and PET). This allows us to see pictures of your brain. The whole visit is at no cost to you and you may be paid for your time.
If at any time you wish to stop participating in the study, you may do so.
