What is a study partner?

Your study partner is a person that knows you well and can answer questions about how well you function in your everyday life. That person can be a friend or family member. After you identify your study partner, we will ask you for their contact information. The ADNI study team will contact that person by email, inviting them to join the ADNI Online study. Your study partner’s participation is completely voluntary. Your study partner will complete online surveys about you. Your study partner will not have access to any of the information you provide, and you will not have access to any of the information your study partner shares.

If you join the ADNI4 In-Clinic study, you will be required to identify a study partner who can participate with you. If you are the study partner of a participant in the In-Clinic study, you may be asked to answer questions about the participant through our ADNI study website. If you (the study partner of an In-Clinic participant) complete the questionnaires on the ADNI study website, you can receive $15 eGift Cards as payment for your time (one $15 eGift Card every 6 months, if all questionnaires are completed). ADNI has partnered with Tango to provide eGift cards. Tango offers hundreds of digital gift cards as well as charitable donation options you can choose from. You can select eGift Cards from one or multiple vendors for a total of $15. The eGift Card is our way to thank you for your time and involvement in the ADNI study.
