Who sponsors the study?

The ADNI4 study is funded by a grant from a federal, government entity called the National Institute on Aging (NIA). ADNI began in 2004 as a 5-year study under the leadership of Dr. Michael W. Weiner (Professor of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging at the University of California, San Francisco). Additional grants were given for the next cycles of ADNI: ADNI-GO, ADNI2, ADNI3, and now, ADNI4. ADNI4 is a 5-year study that runs from 2022 to 2027.
