What happens after I schedule my Quest blood draw? What can I expect at a Quest location?

After you make an appointment, you will receive an email with a QR code and a confirmation code. 

Reminders to prepare for your appointment: 

1. Please do not eat or drink anything (water if fine) for 6 hours before your appointment. You must be fully fasted prior to your blood draw.  
2. Bring your printed Order Confirmation Sheet (two pages). 
3. Have your QR code or confirmation code ready.
4. We recommend you wear comfortable clothing with sleeves that are easy to roll up to your upper arm.

When you arrive at a Quest Diagnostics (or Sonora Quest in AZ), there are 4 different ways to check-in at the kiosk: 

1. Scan the QR code from the confirmation email 
2. Enter the phone number that was used when you made your appointment 
3. Enter your appointment confirmation code from the confirmation email
4. Enter your real name that you used when you made your appointment

After checking in, you can wait in the waiting room until you are called in for your blood draw appointment. 

Quest locations do not have designated staff or receptionists in the front to help you check in. However, the staff at Quest are trained and are expected to help you check in through a kiosk in between patient appointments, if they are available. You might need to wait 10-15 minutes or more.

When you are called by Quest staff, please provide them your printed order confirmation sheets. Quest staff will use that paperwork to find your ADNI blood draw order in their system. They can look the order up by scanning the barcode or entering the deidentified name and date of birth on the order confirmation sheet (not your real name or date of birth). If you encounter any issues in the blood draw process, please contact the ADNI study staff at 1-888-299-ADNI (2364) for assistance.

After your appointment, you will get an email from us thanking you for completing your blood draw with a link to complete a survey about your experience at Quest. You’ll also get an email from Tango with a $70 e-gift card about 2 weeks after your blood draw.
